Grrrr . . . That Orchestrated Effort to Discredit Sarah Palin

Okay, I usually don’t simply copy and paste other people’s work and link to posts (we all mostly read the same stuff; besides, others do that far better than I), but this time . . . this time, I’m ticked off.  Sure, we knew this was happening, many of us knew it was happening at the time, but the all-out plan of attack against Sarah Palin by the scoundrels and hacks on Journalist . . . intolerable.  From the fabulous Tucker Carlson’s Daily Caller:

The conversation began with a debate over how best to attack Sarah Palin. “Honestly, this pick reeks of desperation,” wrote Michael Cohen of the New America Foundation in the minutes after the news became public. “How can anyone logically argue that Sarah Pallin [sic], a one-term governor of Alaska, is qualified to be President of the United States? Train wreck, thy name is Sarah Pallin.”

Not a wise argument, responded Jonathan Stein, a reporter for Mother Jones. If McCain were asked about Palin’s inexperience, he could simply point to then candidate Barack Obama’s similarly thin resume. “Q: Sen. McCain, given Gov. Palin’s paltry experience, how is she qualified to be commander in chief?,” Stein asked hypothetically. “A: Well, she has much experience as the Democratic nominee.”
 . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

Daniel Levy of the Century Foundation noted that Obama’s “non-official campaign” would need to work hard to discredit Palin. “This seems to me like an occasion when the non-official campaign has a big role to play in defining Palin, shaping the terms of the conversation and saying things that the official [Obama] campaign shouldn’t say – very hard-hitting stuff, including some of the things that people have been noting here – scare people about having this woefully inexperienced, no foreign policy/national security/right-wing christia wing-nut a heartbeat away …… bang away at McCain’s age making this unusually significant …. I think people should be replicating some of the not-so-pleasant viral email campaigns that were used against [Obama].”

As for the Americans who gobbled up the lies about Sarah Palin, who willfully ignored actual facts and ran with the hysteria we now know for a fact was contrived behind the scenes by leftist wackjobs. . . well, you know what? I’m just as angry at them as I am at these unethical, mean-spirited goons.  Millions threw logic and reason to the winds and allowed themselves to be puppets on the strings of liars.  Two words:  personal responsibility.

  1. My father-in-law, a normally rational, intelligent man voted for Obama and despises Sarah Palin. He is now estranged from his daughter (my wife) over this. In the time I have known him, he has never been dismissive of another opinion…until now. And don't even mention Obamacare and “death panels”. He doesn't want to see evidence (“Oh, that's not true. You watch too much FOX news”. It's like the guy is someone I don't know) He, and the millions of others who voted for The Chosen One, have placed us in a position from which we may not be able to extricate ourselves. OTOH, those who haven't been paying attention to the fifty-year takeover of the US are nearly as much to blame.

  2. @ Deekaman, my dad definitely agrees with your last point–I hear all the time how late to the plate I am. Better late than never (and that goes for the BO voters with buyer's remorse, I welcome them to sanity and goodness with open arms).

  3. Remember when Spencer Ackerman wrote:

“In other words, find a rightwinger’s and smash it through a plate-glass window. Take a snapshot of the bleeding mess and send it out in a Christmas card to let the right know that it needs to live in a state of constant fear. Obviously I mean this rhetorically.”

I wonder if Ackerman is one of those people bemoaning the lack of decorum in today's political process…

They view the right, not as an opponent, but as an enemy. They need to make the right cower in fear. Does this remind anyone of Robespierre's “Reign of Terror?”

Attacking Palin is just one more example, one more step. They're dooming their own careers.

  4. Fuzzy (queen of words), There is a whole group of sheeple out there that consume a steady diet of “Network News”. They believe that we and our thoughts are very radical. After all, isn't this what they are told EVERY night? We are simply patriots that wish to see this country keeping in it's traditions and it's greatness. We view this country as our founders did … nothing more. Most of all, we view the individual as the “Keeper of his life”.

  5. The media attacks on Palin have made me like her more. I agree with her on most social policies, but her economic policies trouble me. Never the less I like anyone that creates such hysteria in the left.

  6. In a post I wrote awhile back,
I stated how many of the American people were not prepared for the kind of abuse this woman took from the media.
Unfortunately, before some recognized what was going on, many were buying into the invented profile projected onto Sarah Palin.

next time more will be ready!

When I hear, “have you heard how she speaks?” “have you heard her talk?”
I respond, yes, I have. Have you?
or “Sarah Palin is a joke,” or that she doesn't read, understand & isn't up to the job-
I must respond- yes, I have heard her speak, I have heard her answer questions without hesitation, stuttering or even a teleprompter, in answers to important pending issues of the day.
I have heard her passion, I've recognized her human understanding and belief in the American people and I have noticed her faith in a power higher than herself. I see her willingness to listen and to learn.
This country is now ready and prepared to stand the battle with the next Sarah Palin!

  7. The “non-official campaign” continues full-force, but it's good to see some of the media's non-official campaigners who have disguised themselves as journalists finally expose themselves for the partisans that they are.

  8. Fuzzy, this is a quote I used in a post a few months ago.

“It’s a great brainwashing process which goes very slow and is divided into four basic stages. The first stage being “demoralization“. It takes from 15 to 20 years to demoralize a nation. Why that many years? Because this is the minimum number of years required to educate one generation of students in the country of your enemy exposed to the ideology of [their] enemy. In other words, Marxism-Leninism ideology is being pumped into the soft heads of at least 3 generation of American students without being challenged or counterbalanced by the basic values of Americanism; American patriotism.

The result? The result you can see — most of the people who graduated in the 60′s, dropouts or half-baked intellectuals, are now occupying the positions of power in the government, civil service, business, mass media, and educational systems. You are stuck with them. You can’t get through to them. They are contaminated. They are programmed to think and react to certain stimuli in a certain pattern can not change their mind even if you expose them to authentic information. Even if you prove that white is white and black is black, you still can not change the basic perception and the logic of behavior. [alluding to Pavlov].”

This was said by the highest level KGB operative to ever defect to the west. That, and he said these words in the 1980's. I think we all know how much worse it is now.

  9. Yea, that really pissed/es me off as well.

I agree with everyone's comments here

Sarah did an exemplary job of staying elevated to the level that screams class and intelligence. Certainly nothing a liberal would be capable of in a million years.

In fact, I think she has positioned herself perfectly where she is now. In the media and stumping for conservative candidates. Beautiful choices imo.

Maybe Sarah was what was needed “in this jigsaw puzzle of American History”. She was a lightning rod for sure and will remain so. She embodies what the left perceive the entire right wing to be and they are Deathly afraid of her. She Illustrated What the Strategy of the Left Will Be Going Forward. Dems are not good at thinking on their feet or adapting quickly, so I'd expect them to pull this same crap out of their hats in 2010 and 2012 and probably for decades to come. I think attack, and insult is all they have. You see what hairy reid is doing in Nevada…

So, Any future political opponents to the liberals had better be learning from this and be ready to deal with each and every one of the tricks. From the SNL smackdowns, to the lies, to personal attacks, to the katie couric hitman media events.

Just like obama, demand the list of questions in advance, and/or be ready to diffuse any impromptu SAT tests given during TV interviews.
Or simply don't appear on enemy territory. It would be better to let folks wonder why than submit yourself for a hatchet job.
And Liberals won't wonder why the 2012 candidate wasn't sitting in front of katie anyway. It's not like they wonder about things that aren't waved in front of their contact lenses.

  10. Matt's got it right.

The slow march through the institutions have been very successful in putting leftards into positions of influence.

The quicker we recognize that, the better off we'll be in the long run.

Unfortunately, too many of our fellow Americans are unaware of the danger we face.

  11. I am angry too, Fuzzy. It pisses me off how people willfully ignored reality or the facts while buying into the Kool-aid drinking lies put forth by the Obama campaign. But, then again, government schools have dumbnoctrinated (yes, its a word I made up) our youth and now they'll believe pretty much anything without checking out whether it is fact or fiction. We must continue educating the uneducated youths and adults in our country. We don't want this administration filling their heads with misinformation so we will have to counter their lies with the truth. Sarah Palin is everything that the Left despises and she is willing to take these bunch of Leftie whiners, who make false accusations, head on and challenge them. That is what they hate. She stands up for the little guy, the average Joe American while these so called journalists are indebted to the ruling class. Yes, we average Joes who are the heart and soul of America are taking this country back from those who have hijacked it from us.

  12. Sarah Palin not just scares the lefties but absolutely TERRIFIES them. They did everything in their power to discredit/humiliate/and outright destroy her.

WHat did she do? Took it with grace and poise and moved forward – almost using their attacks as nourishment. They cannot deal with this loss of control over her and it is making they all the more rabid. I can hardly wait to find out that she is from another planet and is the Queen of the invading force to colonize Earth… yeah, I'm being facetious there, but it is going to get ridiculous before long.

Fuzzy, you mentioned “personal responsibility”… are we sure that term is still in the American lexicon? Sure doesn't seem like it anymore.

What say you?
